Overview
When I was looking for an app that laid out both a diet and a workout plan, I had very limited options. I found some apps that provided some of these capabilities, but the proposed meals/workouts could not be afforded by the average person. Other apps that did have better options were not free; they required premium subscriptions. For just a regular person who wants to stay fit, these apps were clearly not the solution. This inspired me to create an app which could learn your preferences, and give you the right lifestyle, all for free.
So, I created “Live It”. It's a lifestyle app, which helps you track your daily meals, workouts, and calories. The app uses machine learning to recommend easy-to-make meals which are inexpensive and workouts which don’t require any equipment. The app caters to those who may struggle with expensive fitness plans or aren’t sure how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. By giving users an easy outline for exercise and diet, Live It aims to promote well-being.
“Live It” mainly addresses obesity, which is a huge problem in the US and other developed nations. Nearly 40% of all adults in the US are obese, which is extremely alarming. Obesity can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. These diseases are difficult to treat and are often fatal, making it even more important that we prevent obesity, instead of trying to deal with its consequences. Live It is an easy-to-use app, which gives people the accessibility to live a healthy life.

Audience
There are really two main target audiences for this program: people who struggle financially and beginners who aren’t looking to commit a lot of time and money towards a healthy lifestyle. Those who are starting their fitness journey may not want to commit to an expensive meal/workout plan. Using Live It, they can get a feel for what works for them and what doesn’t at a much more affordable cost. The app also caters to people under economic hardship. They may not be able to afford expensive ingredients and time-consuming meal preparations e.g. a single mom holding down two jobs may not be able to afford organic fruits and vegetables or have the time to prep a quinoa salad. This is why people who live in impoverished areas are at a higher risk of obesity. With just the right guidance, both types of users can achieve a healthy life. However, in our world, this information is often times not easily accessible. That is why I created Live It.
The title, “Live It”, has an interesting meaning to it. Those who live unhealthy lifestyles often times can’t enjoy life. In fact, one study found that Americans whose diets consist of low-quality junk food are 79% more likely to be diagnosed with depression. “Live It” refers to living our life to the fullest, and people who want to achieve this goal, would benefit from living a healthy life. This message is further propagated with the logo, which shows a person running. In addition, the simple colors in the logo and layout are meant to create an easy-to-use UI. And the workouts/meals suggested by the app specifically target the intended users, in that they are inexpensive and simple.
